About the Service
What happened to the old Yatedo? Is this the same service?
The original Yatedo was a people search platform founded in Paris, France, that served primarily European users for over a decade. It built a strong reputation as one of the most recognized people search engines on the web.
Yatedo has since been acquired and is now powered by a new team with a renewed mission of bringing the same trusted brand to the U.S. market with significantly expanded data coverage, faster results, and a modernized platform. The address stays the same: Yatedo.com. The mission stays the same: help people find people. What changes is the scale, the infrastructure, and the commitment to growing the service for the long term.
You are not starting over with something new, but rather continuing on with a serious upgrade.
What is Yatedo?
Yatedo is a fast, free people search engine. It aggregates official public records from hundreds of sources nationwide to help find people, verify contact information, and access background history – all in one place. Our mission is to provide access to the information people need to make informed decisions and stay safe.
What kind of information can I find?
A search can return current and historical phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses, social media accounts, civil court records (marriage, divorce, bankruptcy), criminal court records (arrests, convictions, traffic citations, sex offender status), potential relatives, and more.
Can I use Yatedo for background checks?
Yes. Yatedo allows users to perform background checks on colleagues, neighbors, friends, family members, romantic partners, and even themselves. Our background reports include data from many sources and the latest updates from national repositories.

Legal & Limitations
What is the FCRA and why does it matter for using Yatedo?
he Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is a U.S. federal law that governs how consumer information can be collected and used. It applies specifically to decisions about employment, housing, credit, and insurance. Because these decisions can significantly impact a person's life, the law requires that any data used for such purposes come from a certified Consumer Reporting Agency with strict accuracy and dispute standards.
Yatedo is not an FCRA-compliant Consumer Reporting Agency. This means our service is intended for personal, informational use only, such as reconnecting with people, verifying contact details, or general research. It is not a substitute for a legally compliant background check service when hiring employees, screening tenants, or making informed credit decisions.
Can I use Yatedo to screen employees, tenants, or for credit decisions?
No. Use of data from Yatedo for such purposes is strictly forbidden under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You may not use information obtained through this service for employment screening, tenant screening, insurance decisions, or consumer credit evaluations.
Is Yatedo a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA)?
No. Yatedo is not a Consumer Reporting Agency as defined by the FCRA and does not provide consumer reports.
What are the prohibited uses of Yatedo?
You may not use Yatedo to make decisions about hiring, firing, tenancy, insurance, or credit issuance. You must be 18 years of age or older to use the service. Sharing account credentials or attempting to bypass security mechanisms is also prohibited.
